Dreaming of 2018

In approximately 73 days 2018 will be here and I’m excited about it. The New Year is a great time to regroup, reassess, and decide what to do next and do it. I have so much that I want to do in 2018. Push past your feelings

I’m feeling lazy today, I think I’ll do nothing.

I’m doing a 30 day blogging challenge (Blogging Challenge) I won’t lie to you, the struggle is real. Seriously, there are days that I really have no desire to blog. Not only is there no desire, sometimes I can’t even think of what to blog about. Yikes! Not a good problem to have during a 30 day challenge. On days when I’ve felt this way do you know what I did? I wrote the blog post anyway! Yup. Those feelings are fickle and if I had given in to them I probably would have written about 2 blog posts so far, instead of 10.

Being consistent, keeping my commitments to myself, and not giving in to that voice telling me to throw in the towel, are why I am going to be successful with this blogging challenge. I want to encourage you today to not give in to feelings that are telling you to quit. Push past your feelings and do what you’ve committed to doing. You will be rewarded. Your whole life will change because when you’re consistent, when you’re keeping commitments to yourself, and when you’re doing what needs to be done even if you don’t feel like it, your life has to change because you have changed.

3 Things To Avoid If You Desire a Great Week

If you’re feeling like I am, you’re probably ready to have a great week. What’s a great week? I’m talking about a week of intentional living. A week where you live your life on purpose and with a purpose. A week that will leave you feeling so fulfilled that you’re bursting from the seams with joy. Have you ever had a week like this? I have and whenever it happened it was usually because I planned a really good week, I was intentional about having an amazing week. Do you want a week like this? Do you believe this type of week is possible and that it’s possible for you?

I asked the question about you believing that a great week being possible for you because I have encountered so many women and men who want to have a better life but believe that it’s too late or it’s not possible because they’re already living life a certain way. This type of thinking has to go. I want you to know that an amazing life is very possible for you, especially if you’re not doing these 3 things.

3 Things To Avoid If You Desire a Great Week.

  1. Not making a decision. The first step to having a great week is to choose to have one. You have to decide, make a decision, without it you won’t be committed to ensuring that your week is great.
  2. Not having a plan. A great week can just happen, however, you can have great weeks anytime you desire by being intentional about your week. Planning for a wonderful week increases the likelihood that it will happen. When you’re not intentional about your week you will probably have a lot of incomplete items on your to do list, more stress, and quite possibly miss out on some really good opportunities all because you didn’t make a plan for them.
  3. Not taking action. A great week is going to require taking action. Like I said above, these type of weeks don’t usually just happen. With that in mind, what steps are you taking, not talking about, what are you actually doing to ensure that you have an epic week?

Summer is here and lots of people use the next few months to kick back and pretend like the struggles and disappointments of life are on hold. The truth is, summer is a time of growth. Don’t let people stop you from moving forward

Sometimes well meaning loved ones in our lives can throw us off track with their words. Don’t allow them to stop you from moving forward in your life. Believe in yourself and be confident in what you were called to do. Remember, imperfect action beats no action.

From Information Junkie to Action Taker

Are you one of those go-getter, I have an idea, let me implement it, type of person?  Or, are you more like I was (and still am sometimes), one of those, I have an idea, let me research it, and research it again, let me think about it, hmmm, let me think about this some more, onto the next idea type of person. I love learning. I love collecting information. I love thinking about the information I have collected. Implementation however, that’s another story.

Because I love researching (former scientist), I read lots of books and listened to lots of podcasts on how to take action. They all left me feeling frustrated though because they didn’t offer any advice that made me want to get up and take action. I finally got the message, the only way to take action is to take action!

Sorry people like me, it’s true. You have to become a different type of person and take action. Stop collecting information, trust me, you have enough. Stop thinking about the information you have, just start doing what you already know needs to be done. Choose one action and do it, today! Once you start, you’ll want to continue taking action. A body in motion stays in motion is true.

Putting it off again


I found myself doing it again, I was putting off what I knew needed to be done if I were to achieve my goal for the year. I was so frustrated. Why do I continue to self-sabotage? What am I afraid of? Actually, I did this year after year. Something needed to change.

I tried to make myself do what needed to be done. I read all the books, listened to the podcasts, watched the webinars, prayed and cried but nothing changed. I was bursting at the seams with information. I knew so much. This made everything even more frustrating. What was I going to do?

The answer was there but it was so simple, it was easy to overlook. The answer…it was time for me to DO! Nothing was going to change until I took action. The same is true for you. If you want things to be different in your life you are going to have to stop wishing, hoping, researching, dreaming, and get things done.
