Consistent Action Brings Rewards

Consistency, being steady. I chose to talk about taking consistent action today because I’m doing a 30 day blogging challenge and today the words won’t come. Instead of giving up I decided to blog about having no ideas for a post. Writing about it would keep me on track, consistent, and still committed to the blogging challenge.

I could have easily made a decision not to write today.When I’m not inspired to write it’s frustrating. However, not writing would be me not keeping my word to myself. I did not want to let myself down so I showed up.My reward for showing up, words started flowing and here I am encouraging you to be consistent with whatever you said you would do.

Being consistent is a choice, a decision that you make. When you’re taking consistent action you are becoming disciplined, you’re becoming a person of integrity, you’re becoming a person who gets things done.Some days it won’t be easy but it will be worth it, you’re worth it.

3 Things To Avoid If You Desire a Great Week

If you’re feeling like I am, you’re probably ready to have a great week. What’s a great week? I’m talking about a week of intentional living. A week where you live your life on purpose and with a purpose. A week that will leave you feeling so fulfilled that you’re bursting from the seams with joy. Have you ever had a week like this? I have and whenever it happened it was usually because I planned a really good week, I was intentional about having an amazing week. Do you want a week like this? I asked the question about you believing that a great week being possible for you because I have encountered so many women and men who want to have a better life but believe that it’s too late or it’s not possible because they’re already living life a certain way. This type of thinking has to go. I want you to know that an amazing life is very possible for you, especially if you’re not doing these 3 things.

3 Things To Avoid If You Desire a Great Week.

  1. Not making a decision. The first step to having a great week is to choose to have one. You have to decide, make a decision, without it you won’t be committed to ensuring that your week is great.
  2. Not having a plan. A great week can just happen, however, you can have great weeks anytime you desire by being intentional about your week. Planning for a wonderful week increases the likelihood that it will happen. When you’re not intentional about your week you will probably have a lot of incomplete items on your to do list, more stress, and quite possibly miss out on some really good opportunities all because you didn’t make a plan for them.
  3. Not taking action. A great week is going to require taking action. Like I said above, these type of weeks don’t usually just happen. With that in mind, what steps are you taking, not talking about, what are you actually doing to ensure that you have an epic week?

5 Things Entrepreneurs Can Do to Stay Focused on Business

As an entrepreneur or aspiring entrepreneur making time to focus on your business can be challenging. Did you notice that I used the word “making” time vs having time?

When I first started my business I could not “find the time” to consistently work on my business. There was always something seemingly more urgent requiring my attention. I would say to myself, “tomorrow I’ll have more time.” Of course, this cycle kept repeating itself and I hardly ever had more time.

The truth is that I had enough time to focus on my business and so do you. My issue (and probably yours too) was I did not make my business a priority. When you are not focused on your business you do business when you can “squeeze in time” for it or when it’s convenient for you. Think about it, if you’re in a relationship and spent time with your significant other only when it was convenient for you, is that relationship a priority? Are you focused on that relationship? Do you think the relationship will flourish? The same is true for your business. If it’s not a priority, if it doesn’t have your focus, you won’t have much traction in your business.

You want to have a foundation for your business that leads to success. Being focused on your business is a necessary part of the foundation.

Here are 5 things you can do to stay focused on your business:

1. Get really clear about what you want for your business.

Focus is “directed attention” (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/focus). To stay focused you have to know what you’re directing your attention towards. By getting clear about what you want from your business you will have something to focus on. Take the time to find this out.

2. Write down what really matters.

Ask yourself why you’re doing what you do and stick it up somewhere to remind yourself. There may be days where you’ll have to remind yourself why you’re in business in order to stay focused; on those days you’ll be glad you did this exercise.

3. Say yes to you.

You have to stop putting yourself last. Believe it or not, it’s hard to focus on business when you’re not a priority in your own life. Make time for you.

4. Make a plan to have whatever you wrote in #1 and take action on it.

You’ll stay focused when you have a plan for making the business you desire a reality. Create a realistic plan and implement it. Each time you take action, your focus will grow stronger. You can do it!

5. Sometimes you need help and it’s ok.

Honestly, you are smart and you can take action on your own. However, since you’re reading this, you probably don’t have clarity, a plan of action, or the discipline required for taking consistent action right now and it’s ok. It just means that you can continue to wait for the motivation to come or you can have someone help you get there quicker. You decide.

Musings from a tree


While perched on a branch of my favorite tree today I had a realization. Backtrack. I’m calling it my favorite tree because it’s easy to climb and has a lot of low, sturdy branches. I digress, back to my realization. 

These plants and trees didn’t just spring up overnight. Seeds and seedlings had to be planted in good soil, watered, and the trees had to be given the time needed to grow. These plants withstood storms, hurricanes, and many dry seasons and they made it. 

Like these trees, your transformation is going to take some time too. Allow it to happen. Don’t rush the process, don’t skip steps. Can you imagine what would have happened if these trees received no water? Stay the course, read the books, watch the videos, take an action towards your dream and give it time. Change Your Thoughts To Change Your Life

I have a question for you, be honest, “do you hate your life?” Do you sometimes wish for a do-over but think that it’s too late for you to have a different life? You feel stuck, trapped, like there is no way out. So many regrets. I’m writing to let you know, there is a way out.

I believe that somewhere deep within, you know know that you can change your life but for whatever reason you’re afraid to change. Dictionary.com defines a thought as the product of mental activity; that which one thinks. What is your mental activity producing? Is the life that you are living lining up with what you think about most? Over the next few days pay attention to your mental activity. If it’s not lining up with what you want to see happening in your life, think new thoughts and watch things start to change in your life.
