One of the reasons that I love December is because it’s a time of planning and dreaming for me. There’s just something about the end of a year that excites me. It’s a great time for getting your life together.

I know that not everyone shares in my December love. Actually, December is a stressful time for many. Christmas shopping and activities, feeling lonely, feeling lost and unsupported, pressure to be what you’re not and do what you don’t want to do. Good news though, you don’t have to end the year feeling this way. You can change everything by doing this one thing. Are you ready to be excited about December?

Change my Life

I write about clarity and taking consistent action quite a bit. It’s because I have realized in my own life how important these steps are if I am to have the life that I really desire. I also did not realize how difficult it would be for me to have clarity and take consistent action. You see, at the time, my mindset was not right for having the life that I wanted. Why? I didn’t think that it was important for me to have structure and discipline. I thought I could take shortcuts to the life I desired. I slowly (yes slowly) learned that it was time for me to stop resisting and follow the pattern of others who were living their dreams if I wanted to change my life.

After I made the decision to follow the pattern, it was still difficult for me. I still had a lot of resistance, a lot of limiting beliefs that I had to let go of. I worked through some of my obvious blocks that allowed me to work on my personal development. I was doing what needed to be done to become a person who took consistent action in my life. Things were changing, I was changing and I loved who I was becoming.

My farm

I would love to live on a farm someday. My daughter wants us to move to Italy. Maybe. I’m open. But back to my farm. I don’t want to be a farmer. I love open land and there are certain aspects of country living that appeals to me. I want a few farm animals, I want to have a big garden, and I want to wake up early and bake bread. I really do.

When I sit and visualize me being on my farm I smile. My body feels light and I’m so happy and fulfilled. This is where I’m supposed to be. It’s time to make it happen.

What have you been dreaming about, visualizing, that makes you feel pure bliss? Are you doing anything to make it a reality? I don’t know about you but I’ve seen my farm in my mind too often to keep it there. It’s time to make it happen. I’m going to read my post about digging ditches again. You should to. Don’t quit

Do you feel like throwing in the towel? Honestly, I don’t want to blog today but I’m committed to blogging everyday for 30 days. So, here I am, I showed up with no idea what to write about. Guess what just happened? I know exactly what I want to share with you today. Don’t quit!

When you keep going, when you push yourself, the ideas will come, the motivation to go another day, the momentum, it will all come. I’ll ask you again? Do you feel like throwing in the towel? After reading this post I hope you know the response I’m going to give…don’t quit.

Are you the one?

Are you the one? The one who is truly ready to do something to make your life even better. 3 Steps to Maintaining Motivation

In my last post I talked about the benefits of having clarity. If you missed it, you can read it here: BENEFITS OF CLARITY. In that post, I promised to talk about maintaining motivation and momentum. Why? Because when you’re clear about what you want and start making progress towards it, obstacles will come. They show up in the form of limiting beliefs, remarks by people of influence in your life, and life events. To live the life you really want to live, you have to be able to keep going despite what’s going on in your life.So, how do you do it? Here are some things you can do to keep motivated to have the life you really want.

3 Steps to Take for Maintaining Motivation to Live The Life You Really Want:

  1. Regroup and ask if what you’re going after is still what you want.
    This one can be tough to do, especially if you’ve been pursuing something for a long time. However, it may be exactly what’s needed for maintaining motivation.
  2. Create a written motivation plan. 
    This plan should include music you listen to that perks you up, motivational videos/podcasts, and activities that you enjoy. When your motivation starts to dwindle grab your list and do some of the things on there whether you want to or not.
  3. Surround yourself with people who are taking consistent action in their lives.
    The company you keep is so important. There’s a saying that goes “You lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas.” This saying is so true. You may think who you surround yourself with isn’t affecting you but it is. Maintaining motivation is going to require that you choose your companions wisely.

It’s important to maintain your momentum by staying motivated if you are going to live the life you really want. When you’re not motivated you more than likely won’t take action. My journey

Life and our choices can take us along some winding paths. Did you know that I was an environmental toxicologist and a college instructor before becoming a personal development coach (you can read more about it here ABOUT ME )? I’ve learned so much in both careers and my experiences have made me a better coach.
