I have a confession to make. I’m ashamed of myself. I’ve been hiding someone so wonderful from you all. Keeping Him safely tucked away, showing glimpses of Him every now and then. Don’t misunderstand, He is in no way forgotten. He’s my constant companion. It’s because of Him that I am.
I’ve been hiding Him because I didn’t want to turn people off before they even had a chance to see all the good stuff I have to offer (yes, I know). I figured I’d keep Him low key and if people wanted to know more I’d share more one on one.

I can’t hide Him anymore. Every post that I want to write every product that I create He’s in there. He’s so intricately wrapped up in who I am that I can’t separate the message from the One who gave me the message.

So today I’m going to introduce you to my Source, my Hope, my Redeemer, my constant Companion, the Lord Jesus Christ. The triune being, my Father, who sent His Son Jesus Christ to die, be buried, and ressurected from the dead, so that we can live. The Holy Spirit, sent by the Father so that we can be comforted and receive guidance while here on earth.

Say hello and like the psalmist David, I too pray that you taste and see that the Lord is good.

Prayer for Children

Children today are exposed to immorality so early in their lives and in much more graphic form than twenty or thirty years ago. The battles that children have to face so early in their lives because of our technological advances saddens me. Cell phones, electronic games, and schools expose children to more than you can imagine.

One text message from a friend with a link to a porn site, a teacher who believes differently than you do, a friend sharing their horrific experiences, uncensored news reports, family television shows with adult themed commercials. It seems like there is no escaping the rampant immorality in our world today.

I know that I cannot personally shield my children from everything. I can do my part to train them up in the way they should go so that when they are older they will not depart from what I have taught them (Proverbs 22:6). I can also pray for them.

Prayer is powerful, it’s direct communication with God. How should I pray? What should I pray? You can ask God how to pray specifically for your children, you can also open your Bible and pray the promises of God for them, and as you read your Bible and come across a verse that you really like you can pray that for your children.

I was reading Ephesians and there are several verses that I want to share with you that really touched my heart.

Ephesians 3:14-19, NLT (Biblegateway.com)

14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father,[e] 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.[f] 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Paul prayed this prayer for the saints at Ephesus. These verses are such a beautiful prayer for children. They are for spiritual growth. If our children develop their own relationship with God, hear His voice, and obey Him, when the wiles of the enemy come they will be fully equipped to have the victory. I love it!

e. 3:14 Some manuscripts read the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

f. 3:15 Or from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name.
